Melville Hall’s catering facility is booked usually a year in advance. The most popular months are May through October. This means that you should try to finalize your arrangements early. Have at least two dates planned in the event the first is not available. You should coordinate both the Chapel and Melville Hall and establish a date and time for the ceremony and reception following. You must be firm on the minimum number of guests you will be inviting. This count can be confirmed two weeks prior to the reception. It is important also to determine the type of reception you will have. There are many options available.

Mayfair Farms is a historic restaurant and catering facility that hosts weddings, based in West Orange, NJ. Situated on 13 acres of elegantly manicured lawns and carefully tended gardens, the splendor of this venue is sure to captivate couples and guests alike. Founded in 1942, the business was established by Martin L. Horn Sr. He decided to purchase a property in the area and renovate it from a home residence to a private luncheon club. The idea was a success, and Martin was subsequently elected as the very first president of the New Jersey Restaurant Association. Four generations of the Horn family have continued this legacy of excellence, now guided by Martin鈥檚 four grandsons, Peter, Marty, Jimmy, and Don Jr. With majestic fireplaces and mahogany bars, Mayfair Farms retains an air of historical splendor. Couples will have a choice of indoor and outdoor locations to host their ceremony. Should they dream of an outdoor ceremony, they can exchange vows in the enchanting gardens, with a reception in the resplendent Wellington Garden room. This terrace-level room can accommodate upto 250 guests, and has a private patio. For indoor receptions, couples will have access to the Windsor Ballroom. With high ceilings and large windows overlooking the picturesque surroundings, this is an opulent area that can accommodate upward of 500 guests. For more intimate indoor gatherings, the venue can offer La Petite and Mayfair rooms, which can accommodate between 40-100 guests. While smaller in size, the feeling of grandeur continues into these spaces with original architectural details. This venue is as proud of their catering as they are of their history. In 2010, they decided to re-establish a Victory Garden within its grounds, where they produce organic herbs and vegetables. These ingredients are used in the cuisine, providing a taste of excellence. For weddings, a wide and varied menu is available including delights such as grilled swordfish and free-range chicken. The catering team can provide a customer-designed wedding cake, as well as a range of dessert stations. This venue can also offer a premium open bar with a selection of liquor, wine, and beer. Additional services include valet parking, attendants for coat rooms and bathrooms, and bar service. For the couple鈥檚 convenience, the site can provide items such as linens, fresh flowers for cocktail tables, and place cards. The team is happy to offer a list of preferred vendors, which includes services such as entertainment and music, florists, limousine hires and photographers. Couples will also have access to a wedding consultant to assist them in the planning of their event.
